Writer Joona Keskitalo (b. 1992) was born in Oulu and currently lives with his family in Hämeenlinna. Keskitalo’s career has included everything from warehouse work to managing athletes. As a writer, he is known as a skilled plot developer who spices his captivating stories with humor and well-written characters.
Keskitalo’s literary career began with the crime novel trilogy Tottelemattomat, which tells the story of former school friends’ rise to the top of the drug trade. The series attracted international interest right from its first part, and its German translation rights were sold in record time. The entire trilogy has also been optioned as a TV series.
With its Takamailla thriller series, Keskitalo has sealed its place at the top of Finnish suspense literature. Takamailla books are united by the idea of crimes occurring in different parts of Finland and their solution through the efforts of the local community. So far, the stories have visited the Turku archipelago, the swamps of Northern Ostrobothnia, the fells of Northwestern Lapland and the lake landscapes of South Karelia. Takamailla thrillers can be read in any order.
