Max Manner is known especially for his intense crime novels, and one of his favorite characters is the fifty-something Turku police officer Harri Hirvikallio. Harha, published in August 2024, is the seventh part in the Hirvikallio series. The series previously includes the detective novels Loiset, Matador, Kipuraja, Aavesärky, Turvasana and Hermopeli.
Manner has published numerous works, including the touching novel Kadotettujen kahvila, which was read as an audiobook by Seela Sella. Manner is a member of the International Thriller Writers organization and in his free time enjoys motorcycling, traveling, and mouth-watering red wines. Like Harri Hirvikallio, the author currently lives in Turku, but having lived in Luxembourg for years, he also feels at home elsewhere in Europe.
